This was an enjoyable read of a very traditional scary story. Unfortunately it is also so banal and unmemorable that I half forgot it after less than a day. Perhaps it would be better read out loud around an actual camp fire in the woods, especially if you have a mate ready to growl in the darkness at critical moments.
