It' begins with a very real story about the social implications of making the choice to go Vegan, something that every Vegan goes through. It really is great to have someone so candidly put everything down and make sure that those of us making the choice are not at all. Kristy Turner touches on the importance of food at social and family events, and how difficult it can be to make such a huge change that the people surrounding you may not understand. She also highlights the importance of not forcing your Veganism on other people as it is a choice they need to come to themselves. The purpose this cook book is simply to create delicious meals that everyone, even the most stringent meat eater, will enjoy!
Turner gives detailed instructions on how to cook everything the right way. Lets face it, if you're not Vegan you probably haven't ever soaked oats and beans for hours and cooked them from scratch without getting the ready made or out of a can. It's a new way of cooking and Turner makes it accessible.
The recipes are a great mix of healthy and comfort foods with a comforting emphasis on recognisable meals. It's no frills, family cooking, really designed to cater to every palate. There's even a fondue recipe!
A great addition to any Vegan kitchen.
