I requested My Beautiful Suicide for review as I was intrigued by the synopsis, but I had no clue of what was in store for me. Many reviewers described this book as emotional, addictive, twisted, dark and exciting. I agree with every word. This was unlike any book I have read before.

This is a book about teens, but should be read by adults only and definitely not for the faint of heart ones.

My Beautiful Suicide tells the story of 16-year-old Cosette Hugo. Her life has not been easy. She lost her big brother whom she adored, her parents are divorced, and she is being bullied. To escape her troubles, she took up running. Running became her drug, which provided temporary relief from her problems. However, her running would land her in a situation that brought out her dark side. A side that led to her carrying out actions that proved more addictive than her running. What started out as an accident became something she could not control. These actions led to her considering suicide as the best option to put an end to her morbid addiction.

I found Cosette to be a complex character. Even though you know you shouldn’t, you can’t help but root for her. I kept hoping she would fail in her suicidal plans, even though those same plans fed her gruesome acts.

The supporting characters played their role in making the story a worthwhile read.

My Beautiful Suicide was a fast paced read that had me hooked from the first page. It was like an impending car accident; I wanted to look away but couldn’t. The story flowed seamlessly, and it took turns I never expected. The ending left me with a lot of questions, which had me eager to pick up the next book.

Conclusion/Recommendation
My Beautiful Suicide was a well-written story, featuring well-developed characters and sufficient twists to keep you on the edge of your seat. A must read for fans of dark and twisted stories.

Thanks to Caffeinated PR for the opportunity to listen in exchange for my honest review.

Narration
I enjoyed listening to Michelle Sparks. This is the first time I have listened to her narration. She did a great job with a large cast of characters. She’s great with male and female characters. If you haven’t tried her before, I highly recommend her.
