This was another one of those books that took me completely by surprise. I wasn't sure I was going to like the revenge storyline, but I figured I would try it. I'm so glad I did...otherwise I never would have known the very hot, Scottish Sin Breckenridge or the transformation of Bleu MacAllister.

Bleu was a woman with an agenda. Having lived through a horrible tragedy, she was determined to seek retribution for her mother and herself. She strong arms her adopted father into helping her with her plan, even if that means being away from him for several months when he needs her the most. But as determined as Bleu is to move forward with her plan, she wasn't prepared for Sinclair Breckenridge and just how much he would derail her plans.

As I said above, I wasn't sure about this revenge storyline. But the more I got to know Bleu the more I knew there was more to this character than meets the eye. I understood her need for revenge. I can't imagine anyone who lived through what she did wouldn't want to somehow see the person responsible pay. I just didn't think Bleu needed to put herself on the line like she did. And as we followed her to Scotland and the temporary life she set up there, I was even more convinced she wasn't going to be able to do what she set out to. And when you added Sin to the mix, I was positive.

Bleu knew who Sin was and what he was about. But I loved how she saw beneath his "brotherhood" layers to the man he really is. Because there was so much more to Sin than his loyalty to the Brotherhood and his family. He didn't think he wanted a woman or a family of his own, but it took Bleu and her unwavering understanding of his very essence to change all that. And Sin did the same for Bleu. She had kept herself closed off, but Sin was able to get beyond those walls and prove this very tough woman was capable of feeling a whole lot.

Evil is afoot in the Brotherhood and all is not as it seems with the intertwined lives of Sin, Bleu and their families. And as A NECESSARY SIN ends, we can see the lengths some would go through in order to serve their own agenda. I anxiously wait for the next installment so I can find out if Bleu is able to hid and Sin fix what's happened.
