*I received a free copy of [title] from [publisher] via Author. This has in no way influenced my voluntary review, which is honest and unbiased *Wicked Knight is the fifth book in the Wicked Horse Vegas series, and this series is still going strong. More than erotic romance, it is about dealing with the aftermath of a tough divorce as well. And also trusting another man to do right, when the one who was supposed to be everything only thought of himself.

Story:

I really enjoyed Wicked Knight, it was definitely hot, and had a little Cinderella / Pretty Woman feel to it. Mostly because Hannah was ready to do whatever it took to make sure her daughter would be with her, and that she would be safe being there. In the beginning, I didn't really enjoy Asher all that much, but that changed quickly. He was quirky, and he really wanted to find love. He didn't think he deserved it, though, and when I learned why that was, I could understand him very well.

Hannah had not only been burned by love, she had been scorched by it! Her ex husband was the worst man ever! And he managed to get full custody of their daughter - plus alimony, even if he earned much more money than Hannah - just to get back at Hannah for leaving him. Never mind the fact that he was cheating on her, he felt like their marriage falling apart was all about her.

Wicked Knight did feature several visits to The Wicked Horse, and man, those scenes were hot. I needed an electric fan to be able to continue reading, and my kindle was fuming at times ;) Bennett always manages to bring more to her erotic romance stories than the hotness, though. I loved both the character development and the overall story.

Writing style :

Wicked Knight is written in first person point of view, present tense, with many dialogues. And there are chapters from both Asher's and Hannah's perspectives.

Her fretful gaze slides to me. She bites down on her lower lip, fear filling her eyes. Not sure what it says, but it's sexy as hell to me. I want to fuck her more than I want to chastise her.

I bet you will. Those damn words have been playing in my head all day, despite the fact I keep telling myself I'm not interested in his proposition. Even though I am very much attracted to Asher Knight.

About Sawyer Bennett:

Since the release of her debut contemporary romance novel, Off Sides, in January 2013, Sawyer Bennett has released multiple books, many of which have appeared on the New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestseller lists.
A reformed trial lawyer from North Carolina, Sawyer uses real life experience to create relatable, sexy stories that appeal to a wide array of readers. From new adult to erotic contemporary romance, Sawyer writes something for just about everyone.
Sawyer likes her Bloody Marys strong, her martinis dirty, and her heroes a combination of the two. When not bringing fictional romance to life, Sawyer is a chauffeur, stylist, chef, maid, and personal assistant to a very active daughter, as well as full-time servant to her adorably naughty dogs. She believes in the good of others, and that a bad day can be cured with a great work-out, cake, or even better, both.
Sawyer also writes general and women’s fiction under the pen name S. Bennett and sweet romance under the name Juliette Poe.
