Diego is a grumpy ex-military pilot who has been living in Alaska for the past 5 years and is struggling with his haunting past. Gemma is the new sassy yoga teacher in town who is also struggling with her past. When Diego shows up to Gemma's yoga class it is an instant attraction between the two of them but due to their pasts, they both decide to take it one day at a time. When Gemma's past starts to come back to really haunt her, things get a little rocky when she has to explain.

Diego and Gemma's story is a great build from friendship to lovers and once they can no longer fight their attraction things get very good. They both balanced each other well. The book does touch on some heavier issues. The side characters did a great job of helping bring the large family vibe with their banter. I was happy when they both finally came clean about their pasts and were able to move forward to their HEA.
