Worth the Fight by Vi Keeland

Worth the Fight (MMA Fighter, #1)

by Vi Keeland

From New York Times & USA Today Bestseller, Vi Keeland, comes a sexy new standalone novel.

It didn't matter that the ref called it a clean hit. Nico Hunter would never be the same.

Elle has a good life. A job she loves, a great apartment, and the guy she's been dating for more than two years is a catch and a half. But it's boring...and she strives to keep it that way. Too many emotions are dangerous. Her own past is living proof of what can happen when you lose control.

Then Nico walks into Elle's office and everything changes...for both of them. But what can the tattooed, hard-bodied MMA fighter and the beautiful and always steady attorney have in common? A lot more than they bargained for.

***Author's note*** THIS IS A STAND-ALONE NOVEL. Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

I loved this book and Nico and Elle. I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this one, but an MMA fighter suffering from PTSD with a big squishy center was certainly not it.

Elle is a lawyer who meet famous MMA fighter Nico when she looks over one of his endorsement contracts as a favor for her ex. The attraction between the two is immediate. Elle fights the attraction, but Nico goes after what he wants. When he finally convinces Elle to give him a shot, we discover Nico is not at all what Elle (or even myself) thought he was.

Nico had a heart of gold, despite his rather barbaric occupation. He opens his gym up to troubled youth and would do anything for his family. Just how much he care and the size of his heart is evident when he works his magic with Elle. Nico wears his heart and his feelings on his sleeve, so no one ever needs to wonder how he's feeling.

Elle is determined to live her life according to a plan. Nothing is ever out of order, including her relationship with a fellow lawyer. Elle doesn't want to live her life using her emotions. It's a way to protect herself from the demons of her youth. But when she meets Nico, he throws her life completely out of whack. He makes her feel things she wasn't ready to feel and makes her realize just how much she needs him.

This was a great read. It surprised me with how much I enjoyed it. Nico was to die for and truly made the book for me I look forward to more from this author, who was new to me.
