I had to sit on reviewing this book for a few weeks. Most of the book I gave a 4 star rating, but there were a few things in the book I would give 3 1/2 stars. There is something that happens in the middle of the book that I just shook my head at and said, "What the heck?" I figure it is good writing on Lani's part if she got that kind of reaction from me. It isn't someing that would not be found in a paranormal book, but I just wasn't expecting it!

The best part of the book is the main character,Yara. I like her very much! Not so sure I fell in love with the male lead, Brent. It is hard to pinpoint why, but it is what it is. I also think Yara's friend, Cherie, adds some much needed comic relief and is such a bright, charming, and loyal character. This is a great first book by Lani Woodland. I am loving the Paranormal genre more and more. Intrinsical is right up there with other great paranormal books. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
