Can the Carson family lay low long enough to get to 1983?
Caitlin's Song by John A. Heldt is an intriguing book as we find ourselves gaining knowledge that we know hasn't happened yet for these characters. The Carson clan is in two different years throughout the entire storyline and has to figure out a ton of things that could help or not help them in the long run.
What I liked:
- Caitlin is the main focus on the Carson siblings in this one. She is a great character that has grown since the first book. Caitlin is also my favorite character.
- The siblings all being in Colorado. It was nice to see Colorado in the sixties through their eyes.
- The parents being on two missions. I can't precisely say what one of them is but the other is still to reunite with their ever-growing family.
- Some scenes, when we follow Cody, are hilarious.
What I didn't like
The first thing that I didn't like was that a sibling got murdered. That was just so terrifying. Another dislike is the way that Natalie reacted to the news that the twins gave her. I dislike the way that a fraternity member was trying to get Cody to join their fraternity. Then there is the way that Molly acted at times to the twins and telling on Caitlin to Vince.
Five Stars
Caitlin's Song by John A. Heldt is a marvelous book about finding love, having an adventure, and learning about new opportunities, along with many more things. The Carson family had their ups and downs in here, but they made it to another year. They are now one step closer to finding their parents and heading home. To which year, we have no clue.
