The 5th Horseman by James Patterson, Maxine Paetro

The 5th Horseman (Women's Murder Club, #5)

by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro

Detective Lindsay Boxer and her friend Yuki Castellano are out shopping with Yuki's mother Keiko when Keiko drops in the middle of the busy street. It looks like she's had a stroke and Yuki starts to panic. She is rushed to the San Francisco Medical Center and admitted to the ICU. Over drinks that evening at Susie's, with her friends in the Women's Murder Club, Lindsay learns of a huge malpractice suit against the San Francisco Medical Center. In the last few years, dozens of patients who were admitted to the emergency room seemed to recover and then died suspicious deaths. Is Yuki's mother safe? In a place where the lives of patients are quite literally in others hands, will Lindsay and her friends be able to establish who they can trust?

I found that this was a better read than the last one. Someone in a hospital is killing people who are starting to recover from their illnesses. The hospital isn't admitting this. When a relative of one of the women turns up dead this becomes personal.
There are also some women being murdered and posed in expensive cars while wearing expensive clothing.
This one kept me guessing, it isn't until the very last minute that you find out who dunnit. It's also interesting to see the women develop both their personal and professional lives.
