This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I received this book for free from the Author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Firstly I would like to thank Emma for providing me with a copy of this book. I have had a love for vampires for as long as I can remember so I was excited to read Emma's take on the ever popular mythical creatures.

I found the first few chapters of this book a little slow going but I am very glad I stuck in there for the whole story. It was very intriguing. Emma's take on vampires is a little different to the blood sucking monsters you may have seen or read about in other books, shows and films.  It was refreshing to have a different view.

I really liked Lauren. She was an easy character to relate to. I could feel her emotions streaming off the page. I could feel her fear, her happiness and the way she was torn over what to do for the best.

Gavin was a great character. At first he seemed like a normal guy, but the more we got to know him the more we realised he isn't. I really felt for him at times in this book. He's clearly a good guy but I can see why Lauren reacted the way she did.

Without giving too much away, I found David's story to be very interesting. I would love to have a story dedicated to him and how he came to exist.

From the off I had this feeling that Daniel would be trouble. He had this bad boy vibe about him that just immediately put me on edge. I don't think that he is a nasty person I think that he has an edge of trouble.

Overall I thought this was a good story but there were quite a few grammatical errors and typos. This made the story more difficult to become absorbed in and little longer to read.

The ending of this book completely threw me. It was not what I was expecting and I can't wait to read the second book.
