A good little snapshot look at the Black Death. A few editing errors that broke the flow of reading aloud to my kids. Included many an interesting little factoid, like that Christine de Pizan was the first woman author to making a living from writing (she's even on my tbr, so I thought that was cool). We appreciated the book making note of the way people used humour and art to deal with the horror of their situation. While what we are dealing with today is hardly comparable to the Black Death itself, we found it interesting to see the ways they dealt with it on a psychological level, comparing to how we meme and joke and even have rewritten hit songs making fun of ourselves dealing with this quarantine.
