Maybe Swearing Will Help continues SWAT generation 2.0 series and I gobbled this one up as quickly as the other ones! In this edition, we get Ford Spurlock (parents Trance and Viddy from Kevlar to my Vest) and Ashe Trammel (parents Torren and Tru from Charge to my Line). Ford and Ashe have known each other since they were babies. They have bickered since they learned to talk.
I think Maybe Swearing is kind of a frienemies to lovers book. Ashe and Ford certainly banter a ton and have pranked and dared each other a lot over the years. However, Ford was protective of her (kind of like "Only I can make fun of my family"). Now that they are older and thrown back together, their banter quickly becomes HOT. I enjoyed both of these two together. They were fun!
Maybe Swearing Will Help has a really interesting sub-plot that these two are trying to figure out. There is the serial killer Ashe is researching for her Masters degree and then there are the strange cat thefts in Kilgore. Both added a lot of mystery and suspense to the plot, which I always appreciate! Fans of all the Lani Lyn Vale series will continue to enjoy her books, but new readers can start here and not miss a beat!
