Before I start my review, I would like to thank Margaret Watson for allowing me to review Protect Me.

Now, onto my review:

This book is electric, right from the get go.

Mia Donovan is what my mother in law would call a firecracker and I loved it. With her 4 older brothers (one whose story I have read and reviewed already), I didn’t expect any less and actually would have been disappointed if the author wrote her any other way. Even the way she introduces herself to Finn (after taking the bodyguarding assignment very reluctantly) was gold. I loved it!!

On the other hand, I didn’t care for Finn (or Finnian) character at first. I mean, I get he’s an Alpha male and thought he could protect himself from his stalker, but still. To take the risks he did the first day was stupid and he didn’t listen to Mia, at all. Made me want to slap and shake him.

Now I do admit that I was kinda shocked at how easily they had sex with each other. They didn’t even know each other a week. But, the more I thought about it (because I’m a weirdo…haha), it kinda made sense. They were together 24/7, no breaks and they were very attracted to each other. I do like that they did entered that relationship as adults. Except for the no condom sex and taking each other’s word that they were clean. Sorry, you couldn’t pay me any amount of money to do that with someone I just met.

Mia being undercover was a hoot and I literally giggled when she became an airhead. Of some reason, it cracked me up. I laughed every single scene.

Finn’s issues with his ex really wasn’t that funny, though. He let her put his name through mud and all because he’s a nice guy. I will say that it kinda reminds me of the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard (or however you spell her name) saga going on right now….minus the abuse allegations.

I do have to say that the stalker’s identity and the end of the book was a little bit of a shock to me. The stalker totally wasn’t who I pegged and Finn’s ex issues got resolved. I wasn’t expecting, though, for the book to end the way it did. I did get a little misty eyed at it (read the book!!
