I received a complimentary copy, courtesy of The Romance Review in exchange for an honest review.

It was my love for the paranormal romance genre that led to me choosing to read and review TEMPTED BY A VAMPIRE. This is my first time reading Susan Griscom's work as such I was going in blind. Based on the blurb I figured it would be a hot and exciting read. Now that it's over I have to say it did not live up to my expectations. It did not blow me away. I found this to be an average read.

TEMPTED BY A VAMPIRE tells the story of a 200-year-old vampire who met and fell in love with a human. These two were as different as night and day but it was evident that they shared a bond. They tried to stay away from each other, but this was easier said than done. Things began heating up but then threats from their past reared its ugly head, putting a damper on their budding romance.

Cian DeMarco is a vampire and a rockstar. He is the lead singer for his band, The Lost Boys. He is hot, sexy and every woman's fantasy. His main focus was his music and interacting with his band members. However, this changed when he met and fell in love with Magdalena.

Magdalena had recently relocated to San Francisco to pursue her dream of becoming a journalist. She was not looking for romance as she was involved in a relationship. She insisted on being loyal to her boyfriend even though he constantly cheated on her. However, after meeting Cian, she began to have doubts.
I enjoyed reading about Cian, but Maggie not so much. I found her annoying and weak. Her boyfriend cheats on her every chance he gets, yet she is willing to forgive him. She was in denial about his feelings for her. She kept making excuses for him. I had difficulty connecting with her.
I wished there was more information on her, as this may have helped me to understand her actions.

I liked the premise, but the story was a bit predictable. I knew who were behind the threats, and it was easy to see the angle the story was going to take. Therefore, as the events unfolded it did not give me that edge of your seat feeling. I have to admit that there was one aspect of the story that caught me by surprise. The romance was good and the sex scenes hot. I liked that other supernatural beings were also included.

TEMPTED BY A VAMPIRE is the first book in The Immortal Hearts of San Francisco series. Will I continue to read the series? It's likely, as I would love to learn more about the other characters, especially Cian's brother.

Recommended for lovers of rock stars, vampires, and other supernatural beings. -
