Beautifully written with character depth and detail. I appreciated the talent within the writing style. Each character was so unique in their own way, and Kingslover does a great job switching viewpoints seamlessly.
However, the details within the story itself wasn't quite what I was expecting in a book. I felt that the book moved slowly, it was a bit longer than necessary and focused more on repetitive day-to-day details than on a more thought provoking level of complexity.
