I didn't have too many expectations for this book, so it wasn't much of a "disappointment." There are interesting bits that weren't shown on the series, as well as a bit more of a scientific view of the methods and theories. Zak tells bits of her personal life (throwing in a bit of comical tales along the way) and those out his point of view of everything. It's not really a book that's going into specifics of it, just captures the basic information for a new coming "ghost hunter." It's not a bad read all together. There are bits that are repetitive, but it is Zak. During most shows, he has the same tendency as well. If you're interested in learning a bit more, and the theories that he proposes, it is a good read. All in all, I would recommend this book to anyone who was interested in the field or the show.
