I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from the Author. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Ascenders 11:11 by C.L. Gaber is another one that will make you feel a lot of things for both Walker and Daniel. The time 11:11 has played a unique role in this entire book.

Can Walker get Daniel to remember?

Walker Callaghan

Walker Callaghan is our heroine, and she is trying to live her ghostly life without Daniel Reid with her. I have to say that she is a great character who has grown again within this novel. Sure Walker misses her love and pines for him, especially when he is back, but then she works hard on getting it back while still having that stubborn Irish streak in her. I am in awe of how much she has grown from the shy Walker in the beginning to this spitfire.

Daniel Reid

Daniel Reid is our hero and love interest for Walker, well one of them, but he goes back to live for a short time before he ends up dead again with Walker. Well, there is a catch to all of this. He doesn't have his memories at all from the first time he died to when he, his siblings, and dear Dad went back to the living. Daniel had two different personalities going on for him. The first one is that he doesn't know what to do about being in this place without his siblings and has gone looking for them, which put him in a line that Dick wanted him in. Daniel isn't the nice guy around Walker very much either. The second one is that when he's near Walker at 11:11, then he becomes the guy that Walker remembers, but this Daniel can't seem to find a way to stay at the surface for any longer than that one minute. He is a great character, and these two do make a cute couple.

Cass

Cass is still there watching Walker and being with her as friends while trying to start something new with her. Sadly this doesn't work out for the two of them as he wanted. I love Cass as a character, and I'm still rooting for him and Walker even though I like her Daniel. I'm so torn between these two love interests for Walker. Even if she chooses Daniel for good, I hope for the best for Cass.

Principal Dick and Edward Reid

Okay, so I know that I haven't talked much about this guy who is our main evil in the last two books, but he needs to be with this one. I won't tell you who he is supposed to be, even though all the clues in the book are quite obvious. But this guy, no puns intended, is a dick. I just have to ask who in their right mind thought that this guy would make a great principal for dead kids. Dick just got crueler and more evil, than in the last book, for both Walker and Daniel.

Edward Reid has always just wanted one son that he wanted to take over the family business. Instead, he got two older sons who are too much like their mom, two girls that he doesn't want, and finally a son that Edward can mold into what Edward wants as Bobby is only six. Sadly, nothing has gone his way for a long time, and he just like Principal Dick is a dick as well. These two both deserved to go to Hell or to be descended to the Down.

He won't stop hurting them or the ones that they love, along with the help of Edward Reid, the dear old dad of Daniel and his siblings, to get what they want. For Edward, that's easier to only have Robert as his child to groom him to become evil just like him. For Dick, that is to get the Omorrow Project of Einstein's and rule the world as he wants it to be. Who knows if the two of them will get what they want?

Five Stars

Ascenders 11:11 by C.L. Gaber is an excellent book that found me rooting for Walker to get Daniel to remember without turning him to mush. We learned a great deal about the Midst and how big it is. I didn't think it would be more significant than what we know about in that one little place where Walker ended up. All I have to say is that I can't wait for the next book to come out soon. I am giving this book five stars and recommending anyone that likes fantasy ghost young adult books.
