I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from the Author. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Game of Bones by Erin Johnson is a tale of confronting the past and starting a new.

Who had the motive to kill the Officer of the Year?

Jolene

Jolene Hartgrove's past comes back and smacks her in the face in this adventure. Her secondary goal is to keep her secret from Peter. That is hard to do when a truth sniffing dog is around. She does her best with what she has to do and figures out who and why without Peter. Peter and Jolene get into some fights. Although she is forced into telling him the truth, she still holds out about her being a shifter.

There are so many things that happen to Jolene throughout the entire story, and it makes me feel a bit bad for her. However, at least she is getting better, though.

The Mystery

The mystery finds Jolene and Peter trying to figure out who had the best motive and opportunity to kill Officer Davies, the Officer of the Year. The tricky thing is that the police aren't investigating it as the crime as it is ruled accidental. Everything that they are finding is off-the-books, and who knows if anyone will believe them.
Five Stars

Game of Bones by Erin Johnson is another great mystery that I had a bit of a tough time figuring out until two clues happened. Ms. Johnson did a terrific job writing this one. I love Jolene, Peter, and Daisy. I am giving this book five stars and recommending it to all paranormal cozy mystery readers.
