This was a great improvement over the previous installments. In fact, I have added the author's series The McCarthy's to my TBR list. One can really see a maturity in the writers style from the 2007 writings to the 2011 writings.
I liked Reid and Kate before. But I knew that at 18 she had a lot of growing up to do. I'm glad they came back around to each other- both older and wiser. And good for Kate and Ashton! Those two were downright steamy together!
That's another thing that was greatly improved in this one.... the sexytimes were written much better, more sensual and detailed too.
