I hadn't read this book in such a long time, but it honestly becomes more and more delightful with age. It's in the same category as The Phantom Tollbooth - fantastic, intelligent, whimsical children's literature. Everything about it is perfect: the prose, the illustrations, the story. It resonates with me, and it's so beautifully fantastical. It really has every element a book should have, and it's so short. (Which, honestly, is a nice break from all the novels I've been reading - I still have 400 pages to go in The Casual Vacancy!)
