Bayside Heat is perfect for readers who love the friends to lovers trope! Normally, this isn't my favorite trope, but Foster did an amazing job with Serena and Derek! I simply adored them from the first page!

So, Derek never wanted to stand in the way of Serena's dreams. He knew she always planned to get a job in a big design firm; she wasn't planning on staying in Bayside and he didn't want her to stay for him and resent it. So he pushed her away for years and now she is leaving for Boston. Before she goes, they both finally give in to their feelings (yay)! However, now they are lovers in a long distance relationship. Add in the frustration Serena is facing at what she thought would be her dream job and you have just enough angst to keep you interested.

I appreciated that Bayside Heat is low angst! These two get together fairly early in the story, then the struggle is the distance, which they manage, then the struggle is her job. Overall, as a couple, they are solid and endearing. I didn't have to root for them to work out because I knew they would-it was just wondering HOW they would make it work. There was never any doubt that they were going to get their HEA and that make this a delightfully enjoyable read!
