"We're resilient. Time heals all wounds, and it will heal this, too.

I had one hope, that Day After would make a series, that I had been looking forward to for nine year, less underwhelming. Unfortunately, I'm still disappointed

★ I had two types of feelings towards the characters: indifference and annoyance. I did not like any of the characters nor did I care about them.

★ The world in Day After has a lot of potential. I love urban fantasy and books that deal with supernatural creatures living in the human world, but these topics are dealt with on a surface level only

★ I couldn't follow the logic of events that occurred in Day After and I don't understand why things happened the way they did. I admit that this could be a 'me' issue though. I understand that Mac has to choose which supernatural creature she'll become on the council, but I don't understand the lies, the lack of information, the riddles and the tests if Mac is going to end up on the council anyways. The lack of communication and straight-forwardness is so frustrating

★ The progression of conversation and the humourous moments feels unnatural and forced. Also, most of the information that we get in Day After comes from info-dumping during conversation

I'm struggling to think of aspects that I enjoyed in Day After. My one last hope for The 19th Year series: Darkest Day will be a more enjoyable read.
