Visions of Heat by Nalini Singh

Visions of Heat (Psy/Changeling, #2)

by Nalini Singh

A Psy/Changeling novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Shards of Hope, Shield of Winter, and Heart of Obsidian..."the alpha author of paranormal romance" (Booklist).
Used to cold silence, Faith NightStar is suddenly being tormented by dark visions of blood and murder. A bad sign for anyone, but worse for Faith, an F-Psy with the highly sought after ability to predict the future. Then the visions show her something even more dangerous—aching need…exquisite pleasure. But so powerful is her sight, so fragile the state of her mind, that the very emotions she yearns to embrace could be the end of her.
Changeling Vaughn D’Angelo can take either man or jaguar form, but it is his animal side that is overwhelmingly drawn to Faith. The jaguar’s instinct is to claim this woman it finds so utterly fascinating and the man has no argument. But while Vaughn craves sensation and hungers to pleasure Faith in every way, desire is a danger that could snap the last threads of her sanity. And there are Psy who need Faith’s sight for their own purposes. They must keep her silenced—and keep her from Vaughn…

Coffee Pot Review:

The world Singh has created continues to fascinate me as we learn more about the Psy, Changelings and humans living there. I am very curious about developments we learned. Will there be war? Can these species work together? Can the killers be stopped? So many questions!

In Vision of Heat, Singh delivers another intense murder mystery. I love this dark arc thread. For our romance, we are introduced to F-Psy, Faith and Vaughn a leopard shifter and enforcer for Lucas’s pack. The story was good, and while I did not connect with Faith and Vaughn as much as I did Lucas and Sasha, the story drew me in.

Singh brings intense heat along with the action scenes and suspense. Vaughn is very primal and Faith is stronger than even she suspects. While, I liked how Vaughn believed in Faith and protected her, he left me wanting in the bedroom. His cat is more dominant and I prefer a man who is much more in control of his inner beast. *wink* I did feel their chemistry but this romance did not have the same intensity and spark as the couple in book one. Nevertheless, the world, problems and pack have me diving into Caressed by Ice for my April series read. This review was originally posted on Caffeinated Book Reviewer
