Not going to lie, I was expecting some sort of the fantasy element to happen in A lot Like Home, but this is a contemporary read, true and true. It wasn't quite what I was hoping for, but I still found it to be a rather enjoyable read.

My favorite character besides one of the side characters would have to be Caleb, the hero. I found his character to be rather genuine and someone who seems so real. However, the reality he faced with a mission gone wrong during his last military assignment was definitely downplayed quite a bit. I imagined it to be more scarring and taking a lot of time to work through, mentally.

I appreciated his at most honesty when it came to something or well, someone, he likes. And that would be Havana. When it came to her, he had no problem letting her know how he felt about her. My kind of man, to go after what he wants even though she had this little game of pretending to be engaged. No one likes games, lady.

Unfortunately, Havana was probably my least favorite character. I understood that she was burned from an ex and that had her building up steel walls. But I couldn't quite understand her need to be in control of EVERYTHING. I wasn't a fan towards her attitude towards her hometown, which she has been away from for years, and then reappearing in hopes to build some upscale place that doesn't seem necessary in Superstition Springs. Her way of getting everyone to like her was in poor effort.

Even if it didn't quite hit the mark for me, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the growth of not only these two characters, but this town as well. Caleb came to Superstition Springs with his team, so it looks like all of them will find love in this quaint town.
