A fun, sweet romance

My rating is 4.5 stars

It is unusual to find romance written with older characters, especially those in their 50s or older. It is fun to see love stories with characters in this age group.

I found the narrative style very comfortable and relaxing. From the beginning, I felt wrapped in a cozy blanket or having a chat with a dear friend. And speaking of friends, Eily seemed like the type of woman I would enjoy spending time with. Dedicated to her family, committed to serving the people of her church in need, and having a sense of adventure. Fun!

Romance between Marshall and Eily grew slowly and was not without obstacles. One in the form of Eily's friend. Two in the form of Marshall and Eily's deceased spouses. These, of course, added to the fun of the story (oh, poor Hillary! I really wanted to dislike her and wasn't too upset by the things that kept happening to her!)

There were amusing incidents involving the grandchildren. Patrick was my favorite, especially the way he loved Eily and didn't mind hanging out with her at the fair. Of course, the little ones were so precious, too!

Love's Autumn Harvest was mostly lighthearted with hints of faith and service to the Lord.

If you enjoy sweet, inspirational fiction, I encourage you to read this lovely story! (While you are at it, be on the lookout for the other books in the Mended Hearts series. They stand alone and include some characters from previous stories.
