The Princess in the Opal Mask

After a few annoyances this wasn't a half bad book. Both heroines were kind of dumb and naive at times but then also they were both strong and funny and sweet at other moments. Stefan was the real saving grace, though. He made Elara finally an interesting character and I wish he'd have come into the story considerably sooner. Wilha was more interesting once she got a life.

I can see the use of the alternating point of views but I actually found it kind of distracting. Chapters and sections seemed to stop right when they were getting good and then cut to the other pov without getting into the thick of the story. Which was a shame because it was a good story. It could have easily been 4 stars if it delved a little further below the surface. Because the more I got to know the characters, the more I wanted from them. But I just didn't get it.
