Make it a Double can be read as stand alone even though it’s part of The Last Call series. Which I actually come from that perspective since I haven’t had a chance to read the first one yet. They do reference some stuff from the first book and even though they summarize it for you so you're not lost I kind of felt like I need to go back and read the first one for a little more Brody backstory. I have to say with a Sawyer Bennett romance she has never done me wrong. There is always that angst smexy chemistry that I love to read, Alyssa and Brody deliver.

Alyssa and Brody are a lot alike in some respects they both love animals, take responsibility for their actions and are stubborn as all get out. It’s partially why they bond so easily. Plus they have mad crazy chemistry, Sawyer Bennett is definitely a master with that.

I love the story that surrounds them. They’ve know one another for a long time because Alyssa has been friends with Brody’s sister. He’s an ex-convict and she’s an heiress that would rather use her money for good then spend it frivolously. They both have serious ex issues for very different reason. They are super supportive of each other and even if they make mistakes and disagree on something they work it out.

One of my favorite parts of Make it a Double is that Alyssa is the aggressive one. She’s the one pursuing Brody when he decided he doesn’t want to take a chance. I like how she goads him into admitting things about his attraction to her. Plus she doesn’t back down and instigates a lot of their flirtiness.

Another great romance from the mind of Sawyer Bennett and I can’t wait to see which character we follow next in the series.
