It’s interesting to see where Jason Aaron is going with the Avengers plot. This issue is clearly setting up for something bigger, I just don’t know what. We have the Avengers split into five teams; Thor and She-Hulk, Loki and Captain America (I know), Black Panther and Captain Marvel, Iron Man and Doctor Strange, and finally Ghost Rider by himself. That’s a lot of perspectives to cover in very little time. Unfortunately that means that while progress was made for each group, we can’t necessarily see where it’s all going yet.
The Thor and She-Hulk team-up has probably been the funniest out of the group. Not only because of the pairing itself; but because of the satisfying idea of She-Hulk potentially beating up Odin at some point. Still hoping that happens. This plot is probably the most complete as well. We know some of what Odin faced now, and we now know what sort of weapon might be harnessed. Granted, we don’t know the cost of said weapon. We can only assume is must be very high, since Odin had it so well hidden.
The rest of the groups were varied in what information they brought in, and they still clearly have more to tell us as well. Hopefully we’ll have a better idea in the next issue.
