Razed by Walker Shiloh

Razed (A Barnes Brothers novel, #2)

by Walker Shiloh

Tattoo artist Keelie Jessup can handle that someone else has claimed the man of her dreams. She’s just not pleased with her remaining options…

Keelie doesn’t believe in the “perfect man.” But the men who are worth the trouble are usually taken—like her business partner Zach Barnes. After a string of bad luck and the lost chance with Zach, Keelie decides that maybe flying solo—and living with suppressed desires—is the key to happiness.

As a photographer, Zane Barnes has an eye for the human form, and his eyes can’t get enough of Keelie’s curves. Unfortunately, Keelie is like most women—always fawning over his little brother, Zach. Zane is about ready to give up, but then a few stolen moments at his brother's wedding have him thinking maybe there's a chance there after all. Now he just has to prove that the perfect man does exist...for her.

Razed is Zane and Keelie's story, the second in Walker's Barnes Brothers series. I did not read the first book, but it was referenced enough in this one for me not to feel lost.

Zane is attractive and on the sensitive side. Keelie is attractive and jaded. Both of them have secrets. Keelie finds it hard to let go of her secrets and move on with her life. With Zane's love, Keelie begins to see that she is deserving of a life and worthy of love. She then gains the courage to confront the demons of her past.

I found it difficult to get into this story. It wasn't anything Walker did wrong, I think I just found it a bit too predictable. It seems like there's a formula for this type of story and I am finding it repetitive. I am sure fans of Walker will enjoy this one...the Barnes Brothers seem to be irresistible.
