Bunny and the Bear FELT like a Naughty Zootopia. And seeing as I LOVE Zootopia and I LOVE Naughty, it worked well for me. Let me explain...

Ways that Bunny and the Bear reminded me of Zootopia:

  • The main character, Miranda, is a bunny who is often underestimated because she's little and a bunny - she's not, but most bunnies are herbivores and seen as non-threatening. She's actually an undercover agent for the shifter community (called FUC - Fury United Coalition - lol!). Tell me you can see what I'm seeing here...!

  • Lots of very large, predator types (that word isn't used, but there's an obvious predator-prey divide going on) are going missing mysteriously. Our little Bunny is on the task to take care of/protect a big bear, Chase.

  • Though the story is unfinished so far, it's clear that the one orchestrating all this is some little, presumably weak animal... aka prey. Sound familiar? If it turns out to be a sheep I'm going to laugh my ass off.

  • It made me laugh and smile quite a lot, just like Zootopia.

Of course there are some MAJOR ways this was different from Zootopia. For one, they're shifters, not ACTUAL animals. And Miranda is taken seriously by all who really know her - she's not working to prove herself, like in Zooptopia. And the BIG DIFFERENCE: Lots of Sex - talk of sex, thinking about sex, and having sex. I have to admit, some of the sex talk and thoughts were a little ridiculous. But the ridiculous usually just made me laugh.

I wish it were longer and more complete, but Bunny and the Bear was a great pick and I definitely plan to finish the series, not to mention read more from Eve Langlais!
