Kenna's Thoughts

Stormy Glenn's books always make me feel happy.  Her characters are always well developed, and most of them make me fall in love at first scene.  Notice that I said "most".  That's because she also writes some particularly nasty bad guys, and those bad guys always make me love the heroes even more.

In "Fireman's Flame", Chester is on his way to Cade Creek to start a new life.  He's just divorced his husband (because he's one of those nasty bad guys), and everything that he has is in the trailer behind his car.  That's not a good thing because he winds up getting hit by a drunk driver just as he was driving down the main drag of town.  His legs are pinned, and he's stuck in his car, and that's how he meets Jack, the town's fire chief.  There is an instant chemistry as Jack tries to keep Chester calm while they cut him out.

THe story takes off from there, and it's a doozie!  There is romance, excitement, misunderstandings, and moments of abject terror.  Chester and Jack have to endure a LOT on their way to happiness.  There is one more thing that I think I should talk about.  The SEX!  Chester and Jack are amazing together!  From their first kiss...their first touch...they just radiated heat.  As hot as it was, there was a sweet tenderness to it.  For me, it just enhanced their love story.

"Fireman's Flame" is the third book in the "Cade Creek" series.  It can be read as a standalone, but I have to tell you, I recommend the first two installments, "Happy's Ever After" and "Farmer In the Dell", as well.  I'll also be excited to read any future additions to the series.
