A Little Too Much is a great follow up to Lisa Desrochers's A Little Too Far. I was heartbroken for Allesandro in the first book and I knew there was more to his story. Although the book focuses on Hillary, Allesandro's story unfolds slowly over the course of the book as well. Hillary has definitely seen some difficult times and has a walled herself from feeling any deep emotion. Hillary and Allesandro's pasts are intricately tangled and you soon realized that they need to face up to their pasts to move on to their futures.

The story is more weighty than the story between Lexie and Trent in the first book. Hillary and Allesandro are dealing with hard issues from their childhoods that include everything from abandonment by a parent, suicide, drugs, gangs, group homes, and the death of a parent. As a reader, you wonder how they survived and grew into functional adults. These two characters make you appreciate the depth and strength of the human spirit.

I would recommend this book as easily as A Little Too Far because it is a great story with dynamic characters who you can't help but root for from the beginning . Lisa Desrochers's weaves a fantastic story that shows how worthwhile it is to deal with a person's past so they can move forward with their future.
