This was a different type of zombie book. Instead of people running from mindless creatures who want to eat your "Braiiins", the zombies in this book are just people who have come back to life after dying. And they don't like brains or any type of flesh. All they want to do is enjoy their "afterlife" in peace and quiet.

The cause of the zombies? Well, right after the Millennium, all of the polar ice caps evaporated. Which caused it to rain....alot. And when the rain stopped, the dead started climbing out of graves/morgues/funeral parlors. With the living people, two weird things happened. 1) They stopped aging at the age they were the Millennium happened and 2) every single female animal/person that was pregnant self aborted and was not able to conceive. Which brings us to the story.

Tommy Wildeclown is a PI who dresses like a clown (with the makeup also)who has a slight problem (other than his drinking problem). He has an "entity" that takes over his body, forces down his personality and solves crimes. The entity (you do find out who he is at the end of book) takes on a murder case....by the person who was murdered. From that point on, you follow the entity and Fat Elmo (aka Fatso), his undead partner, as they try to solve the murder and stumble upon something much much bigger.

This book was a fun, but slow, read. I loved that the author patterned Tommy after PI's like Dick Tracy. Except that Dick Tracy didn't wear clown makeup or clown clothes. Oh well. You get what I mean.

Will I reccomend this book to family and friends? Yes

Will I read this book again? Yes.
