Let's start with the other books in the series. Go read them. Trust me, you'll want the background set for these two characters otherwise they, and some of the events in this book might seem a little empty. Now we've got that out of the way...

Vlad and Sisi. Sisi and Vlad. Possibly two of the most intriguing characters in this series so far (and there are some good ones to compete with). From the moment I heard they were getting their own book, I was itching to read about the mischievous (and possibly darker than suspected) nun and the psycho mafia boss otherwise known as Berserker. I was not disappointed. The complexity of the characters, the depth of their experiences and their reactions to them simply blew me away.

The storyline deals with some really dark themes (and has some even darker moments) but never in a way that makes you think it's too dark or that you can't carry on reading, probably because of the beautiful love story that underlies such events. Read the trigger warnings beforehand though, because it pretty much goes through them all. If you can deal with that then you've got a cracker of a book to read.
