Spider-Gwen has always been a character that I’d found interesting. Her character, her design, and the slight changes between one universe and the other – I enjoyed all of it. But it was never a series I read as consistently as I would have liked. With the latest reboot though, I can’t imagine doing anything other than reading the issues the second I can get my hands on them. I’m hooked.
As stated before, you probably want to be up to date on Spider-Geddon before you dive into this series. It played a major role in how Gwen got to where she is today, and will likely play a role in the following few issues (though I’m just guessing, truth be told).
This issue does resolve the plot arc that Gwen had been dealing with. I have to say that I really enjoyed the view into this alternate earth and all the changes they made to the characters available. They managed to make them both different but still believable. The slight difference in time was a brilliant, but subtle, move (and it’s one we’ve seen before, so it isn’t that weird).
There were a few points in particular that I really loved about this issue, but I don’t want to spoil them all. Let’s just say that there are some really interesting points with the alternate version of the characters we already know and love. Some of them got a chance to show how truly stable and loyal their personalities are, while others got to show their genius.
