What awaited me was immediate disappointment, as the first 20% of the novel was boring as hell to me, and made me drop the novel until Oct 28... on which I proceeded to finish the novel in one sitting.
Ultimately, I'm not certain if the first 20% were as boring as I remember, or if I was just in the mood for a faster paced novel at the time and that colored my entire view of everything, but I'm sure glad I decided to give this novel another shot because I greatly enjoyed it.
If you're looking for a drama llama type of novel with lots of angst and relationship turmoil... don't pick this one up, because this is definitely not it. Heart Shaped Hack wasn't it, and White Hot Hack is certainly not it either.
Instead, this is a story for when you want to remind yourself that true love exists even outside of fantasy novels, and that sometimes a relationship can be so right that it makes it effortless. Ian and Kate are in wedded bliss, and their love for one another is never brought into doubt no matter what happens in their lives and what danger might lurk behind the quaint surrounding.
And it's so heartwarming and joyful to read of.
