by Jim Butcher

HARRY DRESDEN IS BACK AND READY FOR ACTION, in the new entry in the #1 New York Times bestselling Dresden Files.

When the Supernatural nations of the world meet up to negotiate an end to ongoing hostilities, Harry Dresden, Chicago's only professional wizard, joins the White Council's security team to make sure the talks stay civil. Harry Dresden's charm carries the entire story, reminding me why I am enthralled by the series. While the book is highly entertaining, it feels like part 1 of an unfinished story. Assuming that Battle Ground provides a satisfying conclusion, this may not be a detriment. However, I felt that it raised too many questions without answering any. A few characters felt like moving pieces leading to climactic emotional pulls, rather than characters we have grown to know inside and out over the past 16 novels. That being said, there is enough flavor in Harry's wit that I would probably read a novel of him reading the local news. I just started Battle Ground and have high hopes.
