I was blown away by Ryan Winfield's writing, after reading Jane's Melody. So felt confident I'd love South of Bixby Bridge. And I did! It was like reading a illustrated book without pictures...words magically transforming into vivid images in my mind. Most of those images are not pleasant, as Trevor rides the roller-coaster of his life through a deprived underworld fuelled by drink, drugs, sex & greed. Thankfully he reaches a point where the only way to go in life is up...!
As a reader, I'm glad that there is no defined HEA. It is fitting that once Trevor drives over Bixby Bridge, we the reader can imagine in our minds, what happens next!
