When I ran across this book it sounded right up my alley. I've never read anything by this author before so I wasn't 100% sure what I was getting myself into. For the most part I enjoyed it. I am really not a fan of F/F in my books so when I found out the heroine was bisexual I was a little apprehensive. Thankfully there weren't any F/F scenes in this one.
The writing kept me engaged throughout. It moved along at a nice pace. The sex scenes were fairly hot. Both main characters were likable but both had WAY too much baggage in my opinion for such a short book. Scotty was very much still hung up on her ex-girlfriend and Stark was still suffering from losing his wife five years earlier. Unfortunately because of that I just never really connected to them as a couple. This is one of those books that I feel would have been better had it been longer allowing for more relationship building.
Lastly, there was something that happens at the end that seemed a bit odd in light of the fact that Stark knew where Scotty worked for the entirety of the book. I was left going...ummm?? Isn't that something you would have mentioned to her the minute she told you where she worked?? It just seemed really random...but like I said overall I DID enjoy this one and will for sure be checking out more books by this author.
