I have developed a love for shifter stories in the past year and I can’t seem to get enough of them. My taste for this type of romance has reached a stage where some may think I am addicted. Who cares this is the only addiction that I would gladly keep. That is why when I was approached by the author with the offer a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review I was glad to accept it. It didn’t matter one bit that I have never read her work before, much less heard about her, the fact that she wrote shifter romance was enough of a recommendation for me.
Another thing that made me want to read this book even more is that the heroine is forty something and a plus sized female to boot. This is a pleasant change from the norm where you read about heroines in their twenties and who look like runway models.
Anna has been recently divorced and had moved to New Orleans to start a new life. It was while she was there that she met the man of her dreams literally. She dreamt about Cade for five years prior to her relocating, so you can imagine her surprise when she met the man who she has been fantasizing about for so long. Their meeting was funny and hot. Anna is confident in most cases except when it came her looks. She found it difficult to believe that a hot, sexy and young guy like Cade could be interested in someone like her.
Cade is over the moon when he finally meets Anna as he has been searching for his mate for some time now. He is very protective of her and would go to any lengths to keep her safe. I loved the fact that he tried to help her overcome her insecurities when it came to her looks by reassuring her that he loved her just the way she is. I found her reaction to Cade being a shifter and that he is her mate amusing. She adapted to the situation well.
They fit well together, however, like all romance there is always something or someone will try to destroy it. In this case the someone is Anna’s ex-husband. He is constantly harassing Anna. Little did he know it would be to his own detriment. It was funny to see him get his comeuppance.
I was pulled into the story from the beginning. The pace was good, although there were some parts I found were moving a bit too slow, however, this did not make the story any less enjoyable.
This is the first book in the Le Beau Brothers series and based on what I have read so far I am looking forward to reading the other books in the series.
Overall, I found this to be an enjoyable read and I have found a new author to help feed my addiction. If you love shifter romance ,then you need to get yourself a copy.

Cade’s good looks and amazing body make you look like a container of leftover food left to rot at the back of my refrigerator, growing slimy and covered in ugly mold.
