J.M Snyder just has a way with short stories. With a brief glimpse into her character's lives, this reader inevitably makes a connection and feels their sorrow and their joy! Dane's innocent naiveté was as familiar to me as an old, worn sweater and his subsequent disillusionment made my heart ache in sympathy.
