The first book in this series I thought was amusing, if a bit silly even for a cozy but I enjoyed it enough to order the second one on it's release.
What an improvement! The characters, while maintaining their humour and their spark, all got a bit deeper and more rounded. The interaction between the characters, still often verging on silly, was much more realistic and interesting.
The plot was excellent, in spite of guessing the murderer immediately. Lots of twists and turns, lots of red herrings. I enjoyed the journey, even if the ending wasn't a total surprise.
While the story starts off with the clairvoyance playing a prominent part, it's hardly mentioned again until the very end of the story - I would have like to have seen it play a more balanced part of the story. I was also disappointed that we got no further clues about Morty and the haunting of Sunny's house. But I have something to look forward to for the next book. Overall, a very fun read.
