L8r, G8r by Lauren Myracle

L8r, G8r (Internet Girls, #3)

by Lauren Myracle

In the third book chronicling the online and offline adventures of Angela, Zoe and Maddie, the girls are finally seniors and ready for the great year they deserve. After two years of fighting, experimentation and some hilarious stories, they are prepared to enjoy the fruits of seniority - even though being top dogs at school means thinking about college, sex and even the impending end of their inseparable trio. "Good girl Zoe" is talking about sleeping with her longtime boyfriend, Doug. Kooky Angela has a great new boyfriend who showers her with gifts - too bad she doesn't love him, and moody Maddie is obsessed with teaching Queen Bee Jana, the lesson of a lifetime. It's war between the winsome threesome and the class royalty. Baby chicks, car chases and a bad case of prom vomit are just a few of the wacky happenings in this most memorable of senior years.

I skipped the second book in this series because I gave it to a friend to borrow like seven years ago and then stopped being friends with her, which really kills your ability to reread. And, yes, I'm still bitter about that. Luckily, it's not really necessary to read in order to pick up what's going on in l8r, g8r.

I think this one is better than the first, because there's more that goes on, and it's a bit more over the top rather than general every day high school life. The Jeep, the chicks, everything with Jana... it's pretty fun.

It's a good way to conclude the series, as well. It's sweet, but not too sentimental. It's just a good romp, and then all the girls graduate, and there are some tears and bumps in the road, but they're all still friends and they're all doing what they want to do, and Maddie's with Ian, and it's nice.

So, yes. Nice. That's what I'd call this book. Nice. I don't think it's relatable to people who are actually graduating high school, necessarily, but it's a good way of appeasing people a few years younger who might be nervous about that. Not the best book on the planet by far, but probably the strongest in the series (can't really compare it to the second), and definitely a good way to conclude.
