I adore this book. It's a lighthearted superhero/villain adventure. There's lots of action, a decent amount of swoonworthy romance and a ton of funny lines. The characters aren't overly deep but it's just a real feel good read. I love Angel and X. Angel is totally badass her choke-hold on X was freaking hilarious and the rest of her escape attempt was highly amusing. And X is a bunch of contradictions wrapped in a nice bow. I liked that he was bad, but it was believable that Angel would/could fall for him. She doesn't just bend to his demands but sees more to him and wants to heal him. Cliche sure, but does Thalassa write it well? Hell yes. I wanted Angel to just give X a big hug and heal all his traumas. If I have any complaint it would be that it wasn't long enough. I would've loved to see more interaction between Angel and X and the rest of the superheroes. Actually, I would love to read Cinder's story - she sounded cool af.
