The Complete Collection (Beautiful Creatures)

by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl

There were no surprises in Gatlin County. At least, that's what I thought. Turns out, I couldn't have been more wrong.

Ethan Wate used to think of Gatlin, the small Southern town he had always called home, as a place where nothing ever changed. Then he met mysterious newcomer Lena Duchannes, who revealed a secret world where a curse has marked Lena's family of powerful Supernaturals for generations.

Mysterious, suspenseful, and romantic, Beautiful Creatures, Beautiful Darkness, Beautiful Chaos, and Beautiful Redemption introduce a secret world hidden in plain sight. A world where impossible, magical, life-altering events happen. Sometimes life-ending.

This stunning set makes the perfect gift for fans of this bestselling Southern gothic romance.

I personally did not really enjoy this series. The plot and stuff wasn’t too bad but it was kinda lame. I found that a lot of the time the words the characters said and the things they did seemed really forced. Like the author wasn’t really sure what was going to happen. Many things that were important in the series were never explained properly like Linkubus and the Caster’s powers. Another thing I didn’t like was how the town of Gatlin was a HUGE southern cliche. I’m not from the south so I don’t really know a whole lot about it but this was bad. Typical things like baking pies and reenacting the Civil War were pretty common throughout the whole series. Apparently one author did most of the story writing and the other did all the history stuff about how the town should be and whatnot. Honestly it felt like two different books mashed into one.

The characters were boring and lame. There’s Ethan who’s supposed to be a popular jock but never acts like it. Instead he’s a whiny baby. Then there’s Lena who can’t decide if she’s good or bad and goes back and forth through the whole series which gets old really quick. The rest of the characters were pretty stupid too. They continued to get worse as the series went on.
