Silver Borne by Patricia Briggs

Silver Borne (Mercy Thompson, #5)

by Patricia Briggs

Being a mechanic is hard work. Mercy Thompson, for instance, just spent the last couple of months trying to evade the murderous queen of the local vampire seethe, and now the leader of the werewolf pack - who's maybe-more-than-just-a-friend - has asked for her help. A book of fae secrets has come to light and they're all about to find out how implacable - and dangerous - the fae can be. OK, so maybe her troubles have nothing to do with the job. This book was all about problem solving - working with people who may not like you for the "right reasons" is never easy, and is made even more difficult when they could eat you. Add on top of that a friend with major problems you are trying to hide, and a search for a missing powerful artifact ... no one can accuse Mercy of taking the easy way out. I really enjoyed this story, and feel like Mercy moved forward with accepting the things life keeps throwing at her, and the things she is being gifted with as well. She is looking for her place to belong, and we can all relate. Fortunately for Mercy she has some amazing people in her corner, and in this story she really really starts to realize it.
