"BabyKnits: Hats & Booties" presents fifteen matching sets - thirty projects - to warm little heads and feet. Such sets have always been popular projects, the perfect gift for a newborn. These original patterns include both contemporary classics (such as baby cables or wiggly stripes) and whimsical creations (such as dots and ruffles). The matching booties share the same yarns and styling. The patterns use easy stitches and widely available yarns including bright cottons, soft baby weights, and novelty yarns. There are earflaps and curlicue tops and rosebuds. These projects will knit up quickly in time for a baby shower, and will be treasured by the lucky baby's family forever.
Exactly what the cover says. 15 beautiful and varied hat and bootie sets for the babies in your life. The styling is varied with casual, formal, whimsical and silly and everything in between. I've knitted two different sets included in this book (Buttery Beanie and Baby Cables) and both were adorable and well received.
If I have one caveat, it's that the styles in this book tend toward the less traditional and more toward trendy. That can be a good thing, of course (especially given how quickly these projects knit up and how quickly babies grow).
The photos are colorful and plentiful. The instructions and patterns are standard and easy to follow.
