Fanny & Annabelle by Holly Hobbie

Fanny & Annabelle (Fanny, #2)

by Holly Hobbie

In the second Fanny adventure, Fanny writes her first picture book. Since Annabelle, her doll, was Fanny's first creation, it's fitting she should star in the story. Annabelle's adventure ends up mirroring Fanny's own life as they both manage to give the perfect birthday gift to a loved one. With Holly Hobbie's heartwarming art mixed with Fanny's own delightfully naive drawings, Annabelle's Adventure will remind you of why we fell in love with adorable, relatable Fanny.

*These are my thoughts on an ARC version.*

Does it make me silly if a children's book brings a slight twinge of tears to my eyes? That is just how sweet this little story is. Holly Hobbie always provides entertainment with her stories. Within this story our main character Fanny is writing a story about her doll Annabelle. Through out the narrative we have morals and educational value as well as great pictures. I think that this would be a great book to help influence a little girl just like Fanny to write a starting novel of her own with illustrations included.

I love this little book from Holly Hobbie as well as anything else I have read by her so far and will definitely look for her books in the future as my daughter grows.
