Because of Summer was really great! It all starts when Taylor promises her best friend, Kade, that she'll stop stealing the girls that he's into. She always moves in on the girls that he likes, because she likes the challenge and it makes for a nice ego boost. Then Diem comes to their bar and both are immediately taken with her. But a promise is a promise, and Taylor backs off. At least until Kade screws things up and asks Taylor to hang out with Diem to put in a good for him.

I must start with a warning. If you are looking for happily ever after F/F Romance, Because of Summer is not it. Seriously. It's not even in the same country as happy, fluffy F/F Romance. It is an amazing read and it starts off super great, fun, and sexy, but then....things happen. Things that come out of nowhere, as these things do. I was shocked. It didn't ruin my enjoyment of the overall story, but I do wish things had been different. You have been warned.

Because of Summer has an awesomely awkward love triangle. I don't mean awkward in a bad way, like it's badly handled. It's awkward because Kade cannot catch a freaking clue! He screws up big time, but also Diem just isn't that into him. Kade is desperate to find the one and he latches onto Diem like a life raft! Meanwhile, she and Taylor are actually hanging out, having fun, and getting to know each other and that develops into something more. Of course, Taylor needs to stop lying to her BFF, but Kade also needs to take a freaking chill pill! And Diem...well, Diem should keep doing what she's doing which is telling Kade to back the heck off. I loved it.

Because of Summer was really great. I absolutely loved Taylor and Diem together. They're super cute, and their sex scenes are super sexy and varied! So very varied! They do just about everything! While the ending was a super punch to the gut and unexpected, it's not what kept me from rating this higher. It was actually Kade's chapters. In a way, I liked seeing how he was feeling in all of this, but I also felt like we got all that we needed from him in Taylor and Diem's chapters. Especially toward the end, his thoughts just seemed superfluous. Other than that, woah.
